I to need help to take care of December and January rent. I have contacted the catholic charities usa and community action agency and the health & human services for family support division in Austin which is Travis County. I have heard absolutely nothing from them. The have you fill out an application and tell you that your on a waiting list with 850 more families in need. The other charities are out of money and eventhough they tell you to come back by the end of the month for the new month and refill out applications, nothing happens. I lost my job a year ago andhave not been able to find good work and I too have 2 children. I will be homeless by January 19th. because thats when I go to court for Eviction and the churches I have around here and other places close have no money either. I know because I’ve asked them all. So if this website can work miracles then I know theres a future for this country an the people in it.

Actually rent is whatever the landlord wants it to be. That is what’s wrong with the world today just because there are some bad seeds out there does not mean we all are bad seeds. Example my mother rent is 756. the landlord choice.
that is not true. my rent was 350.54 every month. she is right. its landlords choice. it all depends on weather their jerks and wanna be difficult or be simple and make things easy.
A true blessing i stumbled onto this page. I been married to my husband going on 27yrs.We raised 1 child together who is now 23 and on his own,and now Im raising my lil 9 yr ol girl alone since the hidden domestic abuse got so bad . When my son married and moved away what I hid so well came out full blown,and I had to leave and now he is making me/us suffer.NO money,doesnt pay the rent on the home we r in that is a rentsal property we own so forclosure is on me. I have been unemployed for almost three years,and just getting through the month has been a painstaking challenge. we learned the true meaning of living by faith and not by sight. We have been blessed by staying healthy, fed , clothed, and with high spirits. But above all, just being together as a family. Be sure to check with your local Salvation Army, Toys for Tots and local churches to see if they can help with gifts for the children or know of places in your area that might be able to help.

I found this site out of desperation of trying to find rent assistance in northern Louisiana. Your site had some great links but unfortunately, Shreveport LA doesn’t want to help anyone that isn’t low income or other discriminatory circumstances. It’s sad. I’ve always worked and was able to pay my bills and provide for my family. I’ve helped so many people by giving money and other things they need. Now the time is here where I just need a little help because my husband died leaving me with funeral expenses and bills. I’ve had to move which was very expensive in itself. I can’t believe churches around here won’t even help. Salvation Army and United Way either. What’s left???

Family of three looking for a home we can afford to rent. I had a nervous breakdown in August (our marriage was on the rocks and I broke while I was at work, we have been working on it and we are doing better). I was the ONLY person in my department and if I didn’t get the route done on time it wasn’t getting done. So -INSTEAD- of being fired (I know I could have gotten unemployment but in the long run would have hurt my chances at finding a job) I quit with some grace. My husband works pizza delivery (I know not the best job -BUT- he his looking, jobs are so thin here) and doesn’t make enough to cover everything per month. I myself am job hunting regularly (I know we need to cut bills and most would say cut the internet -BUT- when I go job hunting my responce to “can I get an application?” is “You can find it on Monster.com or snagajob.com” via the internet) We don’t have cable, long ago we bought the intenna (free tv channels includeing PBS) We do have cell phones and are looking into down-gradeing (no we don’t have home lines) We do have a car payment with the insurance payments. We, since the moneys tight no-longer go out to eat, and buy mainly the store-brand food (waiting on food stamps to process). We have been looking for some place to go, the only problem is that when we do find a place we -STILL- won’t be able to afford the bills and the roof over our head. Our families are helping the best they can, but they themselves have limitations. We have and currently looking into all programs that may help us get us back on our feet.
If anyone has webites, phone numbers, etc of agencies/organizations that help people, who are willing to meet us half way -PLEASE- do share. Thank you.

If you have no income, you may need to look at alternate housing arrangements.
Try contacting your local Catholic Charities to see if they may have any housing options available for your, and/or if they can offer you any referrals or suggestions to find affordable housing.

My family is in desperate need of help. Our rent is do Sept 5th and we only have just over half and can’t find any help to make it. Also our power bill is long past due and we have to pay atleast half to keep it on. This all arose when I lost almost all my hours at work. I work 7 hrs a week and my husbands pay check will not cover everything
Our son is in dire need to be see by a psychologist because his pediatrician thinks he may be mildly autistic. What insurance I do have through work will not cover him to be seen nor evaluated and we can’t afford to pay out of pocket. If he was to be diagnosed we could get financial help so we could get him the treatment he needs bit without that diagnosis there is nothing we can do. I have been looking for another job for 3 months and haven’t found anything that can work with my husbands schedule and our one car and babysitting life. We are in dire need of help and never expected to be in this position and its very hard to handle. If someone could please help us it would be greatly appreciated. My uncle is trying to get us a house with a much lower monthly payment to help save money to help our son and our situation but is not having any luck.
